Interpreter Service Owner Accused of Submitting Phony Bills

The owner of two interpreting businesses is accused of billing the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries more than $41,000 for services provided by uncertified interpreters or at appointments that never happened, the agency announced. Carla C. Moreno, 33, will be arraigned Tuesday on one felony count of first-degree theft and one felony count of first-degree identity theft, L&I announced.
