XL Capital Announces $0.48 Dividend Payable 12/31

XL Capital Ltd. (NYSE: XL) ("XL" or "the Company") announced that its Board of Directors Friday declared a quarterly dividend of $0.48 per share payable on the Company's Ordinary Shares. The dividend will be payable on December 31, 2003, to shareholders of record on December 8, 2003. The Board of Directors also resolved to pay a dividend of $4,600,000.00 on December 31, 2003, to all Series A Preference Ordinary Shareholders of record as of December 30, 2003, being $0.50 per share.
