Injured Trucker Charged With Driving for Uber While Getting Benefits

A truck driver who received benefits for a work injury last summer has been charged with fraud after he was found to be mowing lawns and driving for Uber and Lyft, the New York Inspector General's Office said. Joshua Hernandes, 37, of Waterloo, New York, pocketed more than $10,000 in workers' compensation benefits from the State Insurance Fund, claiming he was unable to work, prosecutors said.
