The number of utilization reviews and UR appeals in Delaware have dropped in the last year, even as the number of medical providers has increased significantly.
Those are some of the findings noted in the Delaware Department of Labor's annual report on workers' compensation case management, published this week. The report shows that in 2019, the Office of Workers' Compensation received 296 requests for utilization review, a 17% decrease from the year before.
The number of appeals on UR findings also dropped, from 203 in 2018 to 165 in 2019.
