Medical providers on Tuesday urged the Senate Small Business and Industry Committee to reject a bill that would mandate adoption of a workers’ compensation fee schedule.
If the legislature adopts Senate Bill 601, by Dave Schatz, R-Sullivan, Missouri would join the 44 states that set maximum fees for medical services through regulations.
Under current Missouri law, providers are prohibited from charging more than their usual and customary fee, but there are no set limits.
