The owner of a Cleveland-area home health care agency was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $124,573.07 in restitution to the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation for failing to report 100 employees to the BWC or other state agencies.
The BWC said in a press release Wednesday that Lawanna Porter was sentenced by the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas on Oct. 16, after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated theft, one count of workers' compensation fraud and one count of forgery.
