The U.S. Department of Labor announced Tuesday it has reached a $147,000 settlement with Verizon New York to resolve safety citations issued in connection with the Sept. 14, 2011, electrocution of a worker in Brooklyn, N.Y.The Labor Department said in a press release the settlement addresses two repeat violations and one serious violation of federal safety standards and requires Verizon to provide enhanced electrical safety training for New York field technicians who install suspension strands on utility poles that carry power lines."While no settlement can bring this worker back to his family...
