Nebraska lawmakers have sent to the governor a bill that would make post-traumatic stress disorder a compensable condition for first responders.
The unicameral Legislature voted 45-0 Tuesday to approve LB 963, which would make mental-mental conditions eligible for medical treatment and time-off-work benefits. The vote came six months after the bill was introduced because the legislative session was suspended in the spring due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Some 38 states have now passed PTSD compensability laws.
