When You Can Legally Fire Employees

In California it is illegal to discriminate against any employee who makes a claim of work injury, or who claims to be a witness to a work injury. Termination can be discrimination. The penalties are heavy, up to $10,000 per incident PLUS job reinstatement and other sanctions. See generally Labor Code section 132a.
