Boral Bricks Pty Ltd, Australia, has been fined $130,000AU by the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission sitting in court session following the death of a worker and injury to three others who tried to rescue him from its Jinderah brick kiln.
Boral pleaded guilty to three charges brought by WorkCover under Section s15(1) and Section s16(1) of the OHS Act 1983 for failing to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the worker who died, three workers who were injured, and another worker who was placed at risk.
