Oregon House OKs Medical Examiner Bill

A workers' compensation reform bill that designates doctors for independent medical examinations passed the Oregon House this week and was sent to the governor. Gov. Ted Kulongoski is expected later this week to sign SB 311, an aide said Tuesday. The piece of legislation is the second of three workers' compensation bills in the Legislature this session. The governor already signed SB 386 to protect permanent total disability benefits for workers while their cases are appealed.
