Jury Awards $1.9M to Coal Miner

A Boone County jury awarded a Boone County coal miner a $1.9 million verdict, the Charleston Daily Mail reported. George M. Peters won the verdict last week. He alleged that Rivers Edge Mining Co., a subsidiary of Peabody Coal Co., retaliated against him after he was hurt on the job.
