The City of Minneapolis has awarded a $190,000 workers' comp settlement to an officer who was involved in an alleged police brutality incident that is under investigation by state and federal authorities.
Officer Cory Taylor will receive the payout over four years, according to the independent Minnesota Reformer newspaper.
Taylor was a member of a SWAT team that beat two men during the city's unrest following the death of George Floyd in May 2020, the Reformer reports. Taylor said he and his team heard gunshots and believed they were being fired upon.
