A House of Representatives panel on Wednesday advanced a pair of bills that are intended to expand federal employees' access to workers' compensation, according to a report by Business Executive.
The Federal Firefighters Fairness Act (HR 2499), introduced by Rep. Salud Carbajal, D-Calif., was moved along by the House Education and Health Committee. The bill would set up a presumption that certain injuries are compensable for federal firefighters with five years on the job.
