In a complete twist to the Quackenbush tales, consumer advocate Ina De Long of the Alliance for Insurance Reform and a group of former State Farm agents now claim in a press release that it was 'not only inconceivable, but impossible for [Quackenbush] to have acted without the willing and eager cooperation of the insurance industry. The cast of characters that are linked between the foundations, boards, trade associations, insurance industry, and defense firms are so interwoven, they create the very fabric of which for a time created a cloak of deception.'
