Paint Manufacturer Cited for 6 Safety Violations

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Plaid Enterprises Inc. of Decatur, Georgia, for six safety violations involving amputation, electrical and other safety hazards and proposed fines of $84,500. The citations came as result of an April investigation prompted by a complaint. In a Sept. 29 press release, OSHA said the company, which manufactures bottles and packages hobby and craft paints, received a willful citation for worker exposure to amputation hazards and a risk of being caught in machinery that had safety locking devices that were bypassed or deliber...
