Workers injured in Virginia at the lowest and highest ends of the wage spectrum would receive about 5% more in workers' compensation this year, based on a formula tied to the state's average wages.
The Virginia Worker's Compensation Commission announced that effective July 1 the weekly minimum for worker's compensation will be $193.25 and the maximum will be $773. That's up 4.9% from $184 for the minimum established July 1, 2005 and up 4.8% from $736 for the maximum.
