Virginia Retools Claims Law for 9/11 Crews

Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner signed a law Wednesday that allows rescuers who rushed to the scene of the Twin Towers attack more time to file for workers' compensation coverage. "Sometimes legislation is just so obvious," Warner said of the bill. Under the existing Virginia law, the 9/11 responders would have needed to file their workers' comp claims within five years of the injurious event.
