Key Provisions Dropped from Reform Bill

After more than four months of negotiations with employers and insurance carriers, the Colorado AFL-CIO dropped two of three key provisions in workers’ compensation reform bill that was finally introduced this week.Rep. Angela Williams, D-Denver, filed House Bill 1383 in the House of Representatives on Wednesday. The bill would allow injured workers to choose from four -- instead of the current two -- physicians picked by the employer, carrier or corporate medical provider.
