Former Merchant Marine Gets 2nd Chance to Prove Jones Act Claim over Asbestos Exposure

The Superior Court of Pennsylvania revived a former merchant marine's claim for Jones Act negligence premised on his injurious exposure to asbestos. Case: Criswell v. Atlantic Richfield Co., No. 2175 EDA 2014, 05/18/2015, published. Facts: Earl Criswell filed Jones Act negligence claims against Sunoco and the Atlantic Richfield Co. He alleged that the defendants had been responsible for exposing him to asbestos during his time as a member of the Merchant Marine.
