California is Under Attack

California under attack......

From Nevada, that is.

Nevada, with it's real estate and gaming industries hit hard by the recession, is fighting back. California business is being targeted in an ad campaign designed to lure business to a supposedly more business-friendly climate.

It's the sort of argument that we've seen in the past used to justify cuts in California workers' comp benefits. Nevada claims that it offers a less-regulated business climate. Plowing a bunch of tumbleweeds under to build factories won't raise too many environmental impact concerns there in Nevada.

It's an argument that the comp community in California will be hearing until the end of time.

Non-unionized workers in Tonopah and Pahrump won't squawk too much about a miserly comp system. Once you're traveled on the "Extraterrestrial Highway" to get to Vegas, you'll be glad to get a paycheck.
