Trucking Company Owners Accused of Misclassifying Workers to Save on Comp

The owners of a trucking company in Sacramento were charged with multiple counts of insurance fraud for allegedly misclassifying workers as contractors to reduce workers’ compensation premiums by more than a quarter-million dollars, the California Department of Insurance announced. Hardip Singh, 44, and Amandeep Kaur, 36, operated long-haul trucking company Trust Transport Inc. They allegedly reported $105,811 in payroll to State Compensation Insurance Fund.
