The Louisiana Court of Appeals affirmed a lower court’s ruling giving an employer a $500,000 credit against a civil judgment for workers’ compensation benefits it already paid out. Tommie Herbert collected more than $500,000 in comp benefits for injuries he sustained when he fell from a helicopter. Herbert was primarily a fuel truck driver for Industrial Helicopters Inc., but he was working for a related company at the time of the injury.
