The Washington state Senate put a hold on a bill that would have eliminated consideration of marital status when determining the percentage of a worker’s wages due as permanent total disability benefits after the measure failed to meet a key deadline.
The Senate on Thursday placed SB 5835 on its “X-file,” a holding place for legislation that is no longer eligible for consideration after certain cutoff dates. Tuesday was the deadline to consider bills in the chamber where they were introduced.
