Georgia lawmakers on Wednesday introduced a resolution that would create a legislative committee to study maximum weekly workers' compensation indemnity benefits.
HR 1024 states that Georgia's maximum weekly temporary total disability benefit, “as a percentage of a statewide average weekly wage, is the lowest in the United States” and that the state “is one of only two states in the United States that do not, by statute, annually calculate … maximum TTD benefit rates in relation to their statewide average weekly wages.”
