Three Plead Guilty to Not Having Comp Coverage

Two Monterey County, Calif., tire shop owners and a painting contractor pleaded guilty to charges of failure to secure workers’ compensation insurance and failure to withhold and pay payroll taxes last week, District Attorney Dean D. Flippo's office announced Friday.Esteban Cruz, 62, owner of Seaside Tire and Rim, was ordered to serve 30 days in county jail or complete an alternative work program and pay fines of $2,500.
