Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber nominated three individuals to give a facelift to the embattled board of directors for state-chartered workers’ compensation carrier SAIF Corp, which is being sued by a former executive who says members violated open meeting laws when they decided through email correspondence to fire him.
Kitzhaber’s nominees, who face Senate confirmation hearings next month, would comprise a majority of the board, filling one seat currently vacant and replacing two members who are retiring. Their terms would run from Sept. 19 through Dec. 31, 2018.
