KS Bill Exempts Non-Profit Sports from WC

Kansas State Senate Republicans succeeded yesterday in modifying workers' compensation rates paid by nonprofit organizations for sports officials. The state's National Council on Compensation Insurance agreed to recalibrate the fees to significantly lower rates. Earlier in the week, Sen. David Wysong (R-Mission Hills) and Rep. Eric Carter (R-Overland Park) introduced Senate Bill 177 and House Bill 2039, respectively.
