Kaleida Health, an upstate New York health-care company, hopes to save $1 million a year in workers' compensation costs by implementing a "Zero Manual Lift" program at its work sites, the company said in a press release.
The no lift safety initiative is designed to eliminate the need for employees to manually lift patients and residents who are unable to transfer or reposition independently.
