Zenith Wins Bad-Faith Action Against Provider

A Beverly Hills radiology group that pursued a $4,500 lien against Zenith National Insurance lost its case and a judge penalized the provider nearly $1,400 for bringing a bad-faith action before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. Judge Nancy Gordon issued her order on May 30 that Advanced Radiology of Beverly Hills pay Zenith $875 and another $500 to the appeals board for violating Labor Code Sec. 5813 allowing a judge to impose sanctions for bad-faith actions or tactics in workers' comp.
