The Kansas Chamber says that the movement of Senate Bill 181 out of committee and to the full Senate will help curtail the cost of doing business in the state.The bill changes current law in an attempt to lessen the standards necessary to prove up apportionment to pre-existing disability by amending K.S.A. 44-501 to read, "A prior impairment
rating or permanent restrictions are not necessary to prove preexisting
functional impairment or disability. The trier of fact shall consider all
medical testimony on the issue of preexisting impairment or disability.
