KT DWC - Okay to Negotiate Fees Below Schedule

The Kentucky Department of Workers' Claims has released a bulleting authorizing managed care companies to negotiate fees less than the Kentucky Medical Fee Schedule.Dated 9/18/02, but released on the Internet just days ago, the bulletin says:"It is an acceptable practice under our statutory framework (KRS 342.035; KRS 342.020) that self-insured employers and insurance carriers may pay medical providers a fee less than the Kentucky Medical Fee Schedule.
