Kansas Insurance Department officials calculate that rates will rise 4.3 percent overall this coming year, the first increase in Kansas workers' compensation insurance rates in six years. The Department estimates that this would mean an $ 11.5 million increase to Kansas employers.
The savings employers have experienced in Kansas over the past six years totals about $126 million, according to the department.
