Some Kentucky employers are preparing to file suit challenging the recently issued assessments to bail out AIK Comp, the group self-insurance fund that found itself under reserved and facing a $58 million deficit.
Last week the Kentucky Office of Insurance, which took over AIK several months ago, announced that both past and present policy holders would be assessed retroactively, some accounts over $2 million. The assessments were determined on premiums paid.
