Wisconsin state Sen. Frank Lasee is leaving the upper chamber of the legislature to join Gov. Scott Walker’s administration, according to numerous media reports.

Lasee, a Republican from De Pere, on Friday announced he was resigning his Senate seat to take a position as administrator of the Workers’ Compensation Division within the Department of Workforce Development.

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports Lasee will make $101,000 heading up the state’s workers’ compensation agency, roughly double the salary he earned as a lawmaker.

Lasee was first elected to the Senate in 2010 and was re-elected in 2016. He previously served in the Assembly from 1994 through 2008.
