Minnesota's Workers’ Compensation Reinsurance Association announced that it will dole out $600 million to the state's insurers, self-insurers and policyholders, a result of reduced claims projections and investment returns.
The surplus distribution is the WCRA's fifth, bringing total payouts to $1.6 billion since 1992.
The distribution breaks down this way:
$383 million to insurers.
$182 million to self-insurers.
$35 million to policyholders who had comp coverage in 2020.
