Health care workers experience a high rate of work-related injuries, and claims involving patient handling have the highest average total cost, at $14,100 per claim, according to a new report from Aon.
The report further breaks down the patient-handling claims into sub-codes and finds that repositioning a patient in bed had the highest claim frequency, while preventing a patient from falling had the highest total cost.
