The California Assembly voted to send the governor bills to expand death benefits provided to children of first responders and provide full-pay salary continuation benefits to park rangers in Sacramento County.
The Assembly also passed a bill that would allow the Department of Industrial Relations to attach a lien on property that an illegally uninsured employer tried to conceal after an accident.
Senate Bill 847, by Sen. Eloise Reyes, D-San Bernardino, would help the department try to collect money to reimburse the Uninsured Employers Benefits Trust Fund for claim payments.
