Standard and Poor’s has revised its outlook for American International Group Inc. to negative from stable, while affirming its ratings for the company, including an insurer financial strength rating of A .
The change in outlook to negative comes despite AIG’s appointment last month of Brian Duperreault as chief executive officer, replacing Peter Hancock.
S&P analysts said they believe Duperreault is “an accomplished P/C insurance industry veteran and his track record speaks for itself.”
