Firefighters, Cities Square Off Over Cancer Presumption Bill

Ohio firefighters are lining up against their employers in a battle over legislation that would create a rebuttable presumption of compensability for certain types of cancers. Senate Bill 27 by Tom Patton, R-Strongsville, would create a presumption that leukemia, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma or cancer of the lung, brain, kidney, bladder, rectum, stomach, skin or prostate is a consequence of a firefighter's job duties.
