Gov. Rick Scott has signed a bill that adopts the National Association of Insurance Commissioners' recommendations on large-deductible workers' compensation policies.
Scott signed House Bill 837 on Friday. It goes into effect July 1.
The bill clarifies that, during insolvency proceedings, Florida's workers' compensation guaranty association should pay claims that were covered by the insolvent carrier's large-deductible policies using collateral provided by the employer.
