An appeals court decision that gives New Jersey medical providers much more time to dispute payments in the state workers’ comp system could lead to a flood of provider claims, putting pressure on lawmakers to pass fee-schedule legislation, one attorney says.
But others say that despite last week’s ruling in Plastic Surgery Center v. Malouf Chevrolet-Cadillac, a fee schedule is still unlikely in New Jersey, one of the few remaining states without one.
