West Virginia’s Intermediate Court of Appeals upheld an award of permanent partial disability benefits to a law enforcement officer who had been shot in the leg. Case: Upshur County Commission v. Coffman, No. 24-ICA-232, 12/06/2024, published. Facts: John M. Coffman worked for Upshur County as a deputy sheriff. He was shot in the right thigh while responding to an active shooter call on June 16, 2022. Dr. Christopher Martin examined Coffman in February 2023.
