Maximus Federal Services is on pace this year to issue more independent medical review final determination letters than it did in any year since the program launched, according to a new study by the California Workers’ Compensation Institute.
CWCI, in a “Research Update” published Friday, reported that Maximus issued 89,843 IMR decisions between Jan. 1 and June 30, 4.4% more than the 86,061 final determination letters issued in the first six months of 2017.
