Vehicle-Crash Claims a 'Cause for Concern,' NCCI Says

A workers’ comp lost-time claim involving a head or brain injury costs on average about $70,000, but if the injury was sustained in a motor vehicle accident, the average cost is much higher, at roughly $130,000, according to a new report. The same trend applies to injuries to other parts of the body, says the report from the National Council on Compensation Insurance. The claim cost for injuries to the face, pelvis or hips, chest, trunk or leg is substantially higher when the injury results from a motor vehicle accident.
