The Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission updated forms attorneys must use to withdraw from a case.
The commission said counsel of record can file a notice of withdrawal only if the client has another attorney of record or the claim has settled without the possibility of future medical benefits.
Form C-25R, “Notice to Withdraw Appearance,” was updated to clarify these requirements.
If neither requirement is satisfied, attorneys must file a new form C-27, “Motion to Withdraw Appearance,” for review and a decision by the commission.
