The total number of reported injuries increased for a third consecutive year in 2023, according to the latest annual statistical report published by the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court.
The WCC said 35,610 claims were reported in 2023, a bit more than half a percentage point increase over the 35,586 claims reported for 2022. The 2022 report marked an increase over the 34,966 claims reported in 2021, which was up from 34,215 claims in 2020.
Despite three years of increases, the claim count for 2023 was still lower than the 37,047 claims reported in 2019.
