Court: Hospital Owed Duty of Care to Nurse Struck by Car While Crossing Street

A Texas appellate court granted en banc reconsideration of a hospital’s liability for a nurse's fatal injuries from being struck by a car on a public roadway after the end of her shift, finding she was owed a duty of care. Leny Rey Chan worked for the Houston Northwest Medical Center as a nurse. After her shift ended on March 17, 2015, Chan left the building from the northeast door.
