More than 60% of injured workers with carpal tunnel syndrome and multiple comorbidities in the Washington state workers’ comp system were not working five years after their 2008 or 2009 date of injury, according to new research.
That figure compares to 30% of carpal tunnel claimants without a comorbidity who were out of work five years after their date of injury; and 40% of those with carpal tunnel and one comorbidity who were not working after five years.
The findings were published in this month’s edition of the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, or JOEM.
