The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division published updated cost-to-charge ratios used to calculate how much hospitals are owed for treating injured workers.
Hospital reimbursement is calculated by multiplying the total bill by the ratio assigned to a facility.
For most in-state hospitals, the ratios range from 0.26 to 1. Some rural hospitals are excluded from the cost-to-charge ratio based on a determination of economic necessity.
The ratio for hospitals outside of Oregon is always 1.
